Leadership is not a title, a position, or a collection of techniques.
Leadership is a way of being. Everything else grows from there.
— Anne-Marie SevensterHeart was never meant to mean "soft."
To me, heart represents courage, humanity, clarity and responsibility. Leading with heart means treating people with dignity while holding them accountable. It means creating psychological safety without lowering standards. It means making difficult decisions with compassion rather than avoidance. It means choosing trust over unnecessary control.
I have never believed that kindness and accountability are opposites. I believe they strengthen one another.
I never meet "just a client."
When someone comes to work with me, I don't see a business owner, a CEO, or a founder. I see a human being who happens to carry those responsibilities. Before they became a leader, they were someone's child, someone's friend, someone's partner — someone who had dreams long before they had job titles.
It's easy to describe someone as controlling, difficult, or resistant. Those labels may describe behaviour, but they rarely explain it. I'd much rather ask:
"What happened that makes this behaviour make sense?"
That question has opened more doors than almost any other.I don't believe people need fixing. I believe they need space to think.
My role is not to provide all the answers. My role is to ask the questions that help leaders discover better answers for themselves — and to help them recognise patterns they can no longer see on their own. The most meaningful transformation happens when people begin to see themselves differently. Everything else follows.
I have no desire to create copies of myself. The best outcome of our work together is never "they think like Anne-Marie." It's that they finally think clearly enough to become the leader they were created to be.
The principles that guide everything I create.
Identity over behaviour
I will always look beneath behaviour to understand identity.
Dignity and respect
I will always treat people with dignity and respect.
No fear, no manipulation
I will never use fear or manipulation to persuade someone.
Trust through consistency
I believe trust is earned through consistency.
Clarity builds confidence
I believe clarity creates confidence.
Self-awareness
I believe leaders grow when they become more self-aware.
Leaders who develop leaders
I believe sustainable businesses are built by leaders who develop other leaders.
Success and flourishing
I believe business success and human flourishing should never be separated.
